Friends of The Wisdom Trust - Registration Information.

About Us.
It will be good to have on board as one of our ‘Friends of The Wisdom Trust’! Registration is free and all you need is a valid email address. Then, once registered, you'll be able to help us make a difference every single day, using your own computer at home, school or office, and at times which suit you (a minute here, two minutes there, for example).

The Wisdom Trust is a registered charity (no. 1112323). It was established in 2003 and is based at Caterham, Surrey. Full charity status was achieved in November 2005. Our sole charitable objective is to help create a wider awareness about the important issues facing the future of our planet; poverty, environment and health.

To date we list over 6,0400 registered ‘friends’, and work to support over 560 charities and good causes. Our fundraising total topped the £14,000 mark in 2009.

Just Another Charity?
We empower our members through access to education, fundraising and volunteer programmes that run at absolutely no cost to them meaning that whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours, there is always something you can do to ‘make a difference’.

We currently offer carbon footprint calculators, lifestyle tips, an ethical shopping mall, grants, awareness quizzes, events planning and a loyalty points scheme that links in with all our programmes, meaning anything you do to help the global community, also benefits you!. To find out more, click here for a Powerpoint presentation about the work of The Wisdom Trust.

Our ‘fundraising’ is supported by our friend’s online activity and we are committed to ensuring you never put your hand in your pocket. Current partners include Amazon, Kelkoo, Expedia, Ebay, Lastminute.com, Play.com, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Walmart and Boots.

Up to 70% of our income is set aside for donations to other charities, good causes, local community projects and other ‘not-for-profit’ organisations, to support their current work and to help expand their activities in the future. As a friend, you not only have the right to nominate new charities and good causes, anywhere in the world, to join our programme by listing themselves on our website, but you can help decide their share of our fund through an online vote. You can vote every day if you wish, and at the end of each quarter we allocate our fund based on how many votes an organisation has had. This might all seem unrealistic, if we didn’t tell you that we have no paid staff, no fancy offices and absolutely no desire to change this!

Make A Difference Today.
By becoming a ‘friend of the Wisdom Trust’, you can learn about our mission and contribute to our work through your online activities. And remember, because we try to be different, membership does not mean you are obliged to commit your time or money to our cause.

Completing The Registration Form.
Getting yourself registered is a very simple process. All you need is a valid email address. The registration form needs just three pieces of data:-

1)..... your email address;

2)..... a password (which you decide for yourself, between 6-10 characters – it’s best to use a combination of letters and numbers, but no punctuation);

3)..... your sponsor’s email address (or their referer's code) – your sponsor is the person, or organisation, who first introduced you to The Wisdom Trust. If you don’t have a sponsor, and came to Wisdom For All by finding our website yourself, leave this box blank and we'll ask you some further questions later.

If you've been invited to join Wisdom For All by an existing member or by one of our registered charities, and you clicked on a link in one of our special introduction emails, then the sponsor's box will not appear since your sponsor has already been noted by our system.

Even if you were introduced by another charity or organisation, it's also possible to select one of the other charities in the drop-down box on the registration form, to be an extra automatic beneficiary of a small portion of the income from your efforts.

Once you've completed the form, and pressed submit, you'll be sent an email. Click on the link in this email to activate your account. Failing to do so will mean the registration has not been completed and you won't be able to access the full range of facilities on the website.

Privacy & Security.
We hold no personal information on any of our individual members, such as name, address or telephone numbers. In this way, your association with Wisdom For All can remain anonymous. However, we’re always willing to be as helpful as possible to all our members with regard to their fundraising efforts and if you should choose to make contact with us, we will keep safe (and offline) any contact details you share with us.

It might be necessary in the future for us to ask for some personal details but these will be kept secure and encrypted and will never be used for anything other than to identify members when they're online. If we do collate such personal information we will never share such data with any other party.

1. A Fact From Our Library
Child poverty in the UK is as real in its effects as any cancer, eating away at the core of our society. Child poverty happens because we all tolerate it.
